    My thesis deals with the phylogenetic and biogeographic reconstruction of genus Hypericum L. (Hypericaceae, Malpighiales), with special focus on the Old-world subgenus Hypericum. With over 600 species distributed worldwide, Hypericum L. is one of the largest angiosperm genera. Although quite some progress has been madetowards understanding phylogenetic relationships, this genus’ backbone is still poorlyunderstood. Target capture combined with shotgun sequencing (Hyb-Seq) allows toobtain hundreds of low-copy nuclear orthologs, as well as high-copy organellar DNA, forphylogenetic reconstruction. We will test the power of Hyb-Seq and design aspecific kit to resolve deep phylogenetic relationships inthis genus. Subsequently, we will infer the origin and dispersal routes of Hypericum species across the Holarctic, allowing us to know if the ancestor of this genus was part of the boreotropical flora. In addition, I mainly worked on updating the phylogeny and reconstruction of the biogeographic history of Croton L. section Cleodora (Klotzsch) Baill. (Euphorbiaceae, Malpighiales). ResearchGate:
